Recently, we were lucky to welcome Mr. Seth Martin of the Strand Capitol Performing Arts Center as a guest speaker here at the CYMS Hub. He spoke to our learners about their thought processes and talked about the importance of thinking outside of the box, thinking differently, thinking freely, and setting boundaries. One of the biggest hits from his presentation was the discussion on "functional fixedness". Those who "suffer" from functional fixedness have an inability to see an object in any other way than its intended purpose. Luckily, most of our learners don't suffer from this malady! Check out the many other functions that they found for this simple broom handle:
A big thank you to Mr. Martin and to all of our guest speakers who have shared their time and talents here at the CYMS Hub!
