Check out this awesome student work from the seventh grade science PBL! This group created a multimedia presentation of the children's story that they wrote about the bacteria that they researched. The presentation is a combination of their own original artwork and photographs. The girls also performed their own music. Great job ladies!

Our eighth grade learners have been chronicling the design, building, and testing of their egg cars on Blogger. Here are a couple of great examples of their hard work: Callie & Maddy:
Here's an awesome example of one of our seventh grade group's science PBL projects. Hannah, Adam, and Connor wrote a children's story about bacteria called Alex the Elbow Sniffer and illustrated it using scenes that they created in Minecraft. Check it out:
We're excited to tell you about what's happening this marking period for all learners at CYMS. Your child's Language Arts and Skills for Digital Age Learners classes are partnering up for the third and final PBL experience of the year. Seventh graders' driving questions will be: How can we use our “voice” to persuade others and effect positive change in our world? The eighth graders' driving question is: How do artists recycle the literary elements of stories to create new narratives? You may find the attached project overview helpful in understanding what we are asking all learners to do, and in supporting your child during the project. As parents or guardians, you can discuss the project at home, encouraging your child to think hard and ask questions about the topic. Be sure to contact us if you have any questions about the project!
