Seventh Grade learners are focusing on "Digital Law" in November. They are learning to not only become respectful of creative works they find online, but will also feel inspired to make and share their own work online. To start, students learned the terms copyright, public domain, and fair use. They also learned how to use Creative Commons, a place to help student find copyright friendly photos that they can use for school projects. You can see an example of this lesson below. Students have begun to learn how to use Soundzabound and Discovery Education which are resources to help students find copyright videos and music.

Students recently 'Visual Literacy' unit. Students learned how to read and create visual media. By understanding visual language, students can be less susceptible to manipulation. In one activity, students had to find different photos with different camera angles, lighting, and composition and explain how they influence how people view different media. Please see a few examples below.
